Guadalupe River

The Guadalupe River is a beautiful river! Most of my fishing on this river is near the towns of Seguin and New Braunfels. There is a thriving trout fishery on this river that runs from below Canyon Lake down to about Gruene, Texas. It is exciting to know that the Guadalupe River is the southernmost trout fishery in the United States. Trout are an awesome fish, but I tend to chase warm water species on this river. Where on the trout section one will most likely encounter crowds, there are several other sections where there will be nary a soul. The fishing for warm water species on this river is fantastic. I was born in Seguin, Texas and lived a couple of miles from one of the crossings. I remember fishing the crossing with my father’s friends as a child. I never really started exploring this river until I was a young adult and I started guiding this river in about 1998.
